Line Manager: Country Manager

Location: Mogadishu

Shabeel Group seeks a Legal Compliance Officer to oversee compliance on behalf of the firm and its operations. A successful candidate will develop initiative, maintain and execute policies and procedures that protect the firm and its clients from illegal or improper conduct. The role requires ongoing knowledge of healthcare regulatory changes, the ability to interpret application for our clients and communication with internal and external parties.

Technical Skills

  • Providing guidance on implementation of key legal and industry requirements in the different sectors Shabeel Group operates in.
  • Research of current and forthcoming regulatory changes
  • Creation of regular compliance updates for internal and external distribution
  • Advising on claims, appeals and documentation to ensure consistent decision-making
  • Monitoring potential risks through the development of incident procedures and third party recovery
  • Maintenance of contract templates
  • Assistance in contract negotiations
  • Acting as a litigation liaison

Job Requirements

  • Providing guidance on implementation of key legal and industry requirements in the different sectors Shabeel Group operates in.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law with practicing experience and licensing in any Horn of Africa country.
  • Experience as a counsel participating in litigation.
  • Experience in legal risk management
  • Familiarity with compliance regimes

Line Manager: Director of Business Development

Location: Mogadishu

Shabeel Group seeks a Business Development Officer to oversee all aspects of business development including bid coordination and monitoring, leads assessment and process management, account management coordination and support and relationship/partnership building.

Technical Skills

  • Lead generation, pre-positioning and bidding
  • Account management & customer relationship management
  • Providing business development support to multiple business divisions
  • Organisational support and development of business development systems
  • Leading talent recruitment and management and contributing to CV database

Job Requirements

  • Post graduate degree in business administration, finance or relevant subject.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working in business development within a consultancy organisation
  • At least 2 years’ experience coordinating the preparation and submission of business tenders
  • Good understanding of the international business landscape and working of governments and international organizations
  • Excellent skills in developing budgets and commercial proposals

Line Manager: Country Manager

Shabeel Group seeks a Project Manager for a new construction project in Somalia. The PM will be responsible for assisting the management team to deliver projects on schedule, within budget and to the quality standards required by the client.

Technical Skills

  • Assist Project Directors in developing and managing an overall project execution plan which focuses on problem identification and resolution, the delivery of cost effective and predictable results and the organization and administration of appropriate resources.
  • Assist in the development of qualified bidders list of General Contractors.
  • Assist in preparation and issuance of bid packages, contracts and material orders, change orders, and forecasts and monthly reports.
  • Assist in review of payment requisitions, change order requests.
  • Assist in development of project schedules; tracking and review of construction documents.
  • Develop relationships with and provide constant and consistent communications to ownership, regional teams and properties.
  • Communicate project-related issues and resolutions.
  • Develop, execute and manage contracts in accordance with divisional contracting policies and corporate guidelines.

Job Requirements

  • A degree in construction project management, architecture or civil engineering or equivalent work within the industry.
  • Experience in managing the development of scopes of work, estimates of cost, bidding and contracting, procurement of materials, installations of services, financial and scheduling management associated with the renovation and/or conversion and/or construction of multiple lodging properties and owner relations.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office, scheduling, project & database mgmt. software (e.g., Microsoft Project, AutoCad, Bluebeam, Adobe)
  • Experience in the disciplines of architecture, estimating, interior design, product specification, procurement, construction management and accounting.

Line Manage: Director of Compliance

Location: Mogadishu

Shabeel Group seeks a HSE Coordinator to carry out the day to day operations of the HSE department and contribute to the application of effective Health, Safety and Environmental management by providing technical support.

Technical Skills

  • Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments and other safety assessments to support Health, Safety and Environmental management.
  • Maintain relevant HSE logs and documentation.
  • Assist in the compliance of applicable laws and regulations.
  • Prepare applicable HSE reports as necessary.
  • Provide assistance and advice on HSE issues to make recommendations to facility management.
  • Participate in detailed incident investigations and Root Cause Analysis
  • Promote incident prevention for the benefit of employees and visitors.
  • Assist in the development and presentation of relevant HSE training
  • Observe HSE regulations, wears all required safety equipment, encourages safe working practices, corrects obvious hazards immediately or reports them to the proper personnel.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5-year experience in an Environmental, Health and Safety Position.
  • University degree or diploma
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • Previous experience in a similar position and specific experience in security and risk management industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
